Sprint Nextel Launches Motorola ic402
Today Sprint Nextel released the Motorola ic402, a dual-mode iDEN/CDMA handset, onto its Nextel network. The ic402 is the second such dual-mode handset to be released; the ic502 was launched in November. The dual-mode handset has iDEN and CDMA connectivity, Push-to-Talk feature using Nextel Direct Connect, and 128×160 pixel display with 65,000 colors. The device utilizes both Nextel and Sprint infrastructure, with the Sprint PCS network handling voice transmissions, and the Nextel iDEN network supporting walkie-talkie services. The Motorola ic402 retails for about $40 after a $40 rebate and 2-year contract. Similarly, the ic502 currently sells for $60.
