Nokia 6288 - Something More by carly
The Nokia 6288 looks like a sibling of Nokia 6280. There have been some enhancements and a few minor design differences, however, like altered keypad spacing and a touch of gloss to the finishing. The handset also comes with a larger miniSD card.
The Nokia 6288 is a squarish slider phone that comes wrapped in a black suit to exude a refined and sedate impression. When closed, the phone is dominated by a large display with 320 x 240 pixels. The Nokia 6288 is also equipped with a 2-megapixel digital camera. The camera comes complete with a flash and tiny self portrait mirror, while dedicated buttons for camera operations make using the camera a convenient experience.
When the Nokia 6288 is slid open, a grid-styled business like keypad is exposed. The keys are neat rectangular in shape, and have a thin silver line surrounding their periphery. This design scheme compliments the make of the mobile in the most apt manner. To take the office on the road, the Nokia 6288 offers the versatility of 3G data transfer speeds, Triband compatibility, and support for IMAP, POP3 and SMTP e-mail. It also makes video calling and video sharing applications much easier. Furthermore, the enhanced Nokia 6288 supports A2DP Bluetooth profile, which allows you to stream music wirelessly to a stereo headset.
Nokia 6288 presents a good compromise between entertainment and business. It falls somewhere between the Nokia 'E series' and the multimedia enriched 'N series'. There are some areas that could still be improved, however, such as the tendency for random shutdowns, reboots, signal loss and poor battery life.
